MethodologyThere are many ways to analyze and screen stocks and mutual fund. Qickr.com provides you with tools that are free to use to screen stocks based on their performance: - TOP/BOTTOM: The objective is to classify stocks into TOP and BOTTOM Performer. This is a classical way to start with screening stocks in TOP and BOTTOM Categories in their respective exchanges. TOP and BOTTOM screening is computed daily. This is the very basic stock analysis technique. In Qickr.com, we extend this technique further to include time factors such as: daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annually and annually
- LINEARITY: The objective is to find stocks that have been performing with the least VOLATILITY. This is more advanced technique than TOP/BOTTOM screening. Stocks have to perform almost linearly over time with the ROI (Return Of Investment) of either 25%, 50%, 75%, 100% or over 100% in the given year. This is more powerful technique than TOP/BOTTOM as this will give investors more confidence that the stocks have not been so volatile in the past. More advanced variation of LINEARITY is the so-called WEIGHTED LINEARITY where we give more weights to more recent stock prices than older stock prices
- MARKET CAP: The objective is to analyze stock performance in specific MARKET CAP category. Market Cap is the value of public companies; it depends on the stock price and the number of total shares. We use common definition (see Wikipedia) for Market Cap and classify as follows:
- Nano-Cap: capitalization below $100 million.
- Micro-Cap: capitalization below $250 million.
- Small-Cap: capitalization between approximately $250 million and $1 billion
- Mid-Cap: capitalization between approximately $1 billion and $10 billion
- Large-Cap or blue chip: capitalization over approximately $10 billion
- SOLID PICKs: The objective is to find stocks that have been performing well time and time again. They are analyzed and screened automatically based on their past performance. They have to meet stringent criteria to be in the solid pick category:
- Perform well in the past year from the date the analysis is done
- Stock values do not decrease in the past month, quarter, 6 months to a year
- Commonly these stocks are often listed as TOP 100 Performer in their respective exchanges
- Note that this does not guarantee that these stocks will perform well in future however their past performance should give indication about their future performance !
- VALUE PICKs: The objective is to find stocks that have been performing well in the past that might belong to our Solid Pick Category however they have not been performing well in the past months that they might go to our BOTTOM 100 Performer
- MOVERS and SHAKERS: The objective is to find stocks that you might want to have a closer look due to recent events such as excellent or bad Quarterly Reports, Merger and Acquisition, Win or Loss of major deals. Commonly such major events lead to unusual pattern of buying or selling that is strongly reflected in their volumes of the day, week or month
- SUMMARIES: The objective is to provide users with quick overview of stock screening results in all supported Exchanges. Qickr.com automatically compiled:
- DAILY SUMMARY
- WEEKLY SUMMARY and
